A Very Special Friend Called Shelley

Shelley is one very special friend, a person I trust with my worldly secrets and plans, many of which were chatted about with her over the past few years over a good strong cuppa and a slice of cake. Cake was always a must with Shelley around, she’s always been a girl after my own heart.  Shelley Prowse Davis ‏@LifeCircle_SPD Scribble scribble scribble… Anyone fancy making a busy ceremony writer a cup of tea? An Afternoon To Remember – The Perfect Afternoon Tea Party

Looking back at this year alone, I’ve had some amazing guests at my events and some even more amazing planners and organisers to work and plot with for some truly amazing private afternoon tea events for their friends and families, including baby showers, civilised hen parties, birthdays, Jubilee celebrations and many others besides. I even went with an honest blog post this year on the not-so-glamourous side of being an

Book Review: The Little Paris Kitchen By Rachel Khoo

Paris is a place I’ve never yet had the pleasure of visiting and do you know what? I’m actually glad of this to a point, as I don’t think until now I would have best appreciate this exciting City and what it has to offer an afternoon tea lover such as myself. Until now.. and boy oh boy am I desperate to head over there and get nibbling and sipping on fine teas, as well as stronger beverages with my afternoon

Review: Café Diem at Milton Country Park

I went for a large Cappuccino and Gluten Free Bakewell slice, which was a little crumbly, but melt in the mouth, just delicious. They offer a locally made ice cream, should the weather be warmer, as well as deep filled sandwiches, paninis and the longest selection of hot chocolates I’ve ever seen!  Café Diem is an unlikely place for a good strong cuppa and piece of cake. It’s a fantastic location, within the grounds of Milton

How To Host The Perfect Christmas Afternoon Tea Party

The Perfect Xmas Afternoon Tea Party is more than easy to offer to your lovely friends and family, no matter how pushed for time you might be or how leisurely you may be in the build up to this relaxed and festive affair. This Christmas, I wasn’t going to enter into the festive spirit without having an afternoon tea party, it would have been rude not to! Starting with an Elderflower Sparkling Drink with Fresh Cranberries for a

Tea Guest: Aggie Redpath on Father Christmas’s Treats

A lovely friend of The Secluded Tea Party has offered to share a fabulous Xmas Recipe or two that she has learnt from her own famous friend… Santa Claus.  Yes, she enjoys a cuppa with him every year, around this time and he sits and discusses who has been naughty and who has been nice, as well as sharing his favorite tipples and nibbles each year, sometimes even sharing a recipe or two with her from his travels each time

The Secluded Tea Party Baking School Is Here!

As some of you may be aware, (or you may not be) by now, I have been tinkering and plotting for a the last few months with a new direction for The Secluded Tea Party. With my experience of hosting Afternoon Tea parties, events & workshops over the last few years, both for fun and for profit, I have learnt many valuable lessons along the way. Thanks to the success of The Great British Bake Off, a reignited love of baking a
