Stayed: November 2016
The Apartment: Located in the popular part of Stockholm ‘Vasastan’.
Near the metro, bus and the city’s best restaurants and parks. The apartment is located on a tiny, cute street just off Odenplan. It’s quiet around the clock, but close to the centre.
Sofie was welcoming from the moment we booked this stunning apartment – she helped us with recommendations for places to eat & drink, even places to shop and she was there to personally welcome us/show us around her stylish apartment on arrival.
We loved this apartment, it was even better than the listing had suggested, beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen gadgets had us gasping in awe – such a great find!
There were four of us girls staying here for a 2-night festive break, but with three bedrooms, with plenty of space for us to stretch out and enjoy our own downtime after a day exploring.
The beds were super comfortable – I enjoyed the bunk beds all to myself and felt ridiculously cosy tucked up under my beautiful Nordic blankets, surrounded by quirky books and art work, I just loved all the little touches.
Everything we wanted and needed was there, Sofie even left us some milk in the fridge, she was a super thoughtful host!
The kitchen gadgets had us in stitches, you had to literally knock twice to open the dishwasher door and the instant boiling water tap over the sink was just mesmerising. It’s a beautifully designed kitchen, perfect for relaxing and planning your travel adventures in over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.
This apartment has great wifi access, comfy beds, a homely living room of which we enjoyed watching Netflix (we managed to watch some re-runs of “Friends” and get festive with “Elf”!) and we curled up under blankets one evening and got cosy. The bathroom is a joy to shower in, with a large wet room to make use of (even towels and hairdryer was provided), the kitchen is well stocked and we loved drinking wine from the glasses provided – a well thought out apartment/home.
The artwork is great to look at and the addition of a new fire burner was welcomed – we didn’t use it in the end, but Sofie showed us how to use it if we fancied a real fire – a very unexpected & pleasant addition!
This apartment is decorated in a Scandinavian classic design with splashes of modern luxury throughout.
Great for families – it’s a good size for a family or a group of friends!
It’s just a real shame we didn’t spend much time in the apartment, I would have liked to have lived in it for longer!
Sofie had just had a brand new wooden floor laid throughout the apartment, so she politely asked us to take care of it, not getting water (or snow!) on the wood, of which we respected and were glad of being told, or we may not have known to be wary of this during our stay.
Highly rated places to visit/eat/drink:
The Brunch Club, Phil’s Burgers, The illuminated Reindeer at Nybroplan, Vasa Museum, Svenskt Tenn for a pot of tea and a great shopping experience. Lagerhaus for discount homewares and curious gift ideas, Fotografiska in Södermalm at night followed by dinner at Meatballs for The People.
Pharmarium for a crazy cocktail in Gamla Stan, Coffee at Johan & Nyström, Breakfast pastries at Fabrique (many different bakeries around the City to sample their treats!).
It snowed too, so we got to wear our snow boots and enjoy a jam-packed long weekend in Stockholm!
Thank you so much to our hosts, we didn’t want to leave! If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Stockholm, this couldn’t be rated highly enough – it’s easy to get to/explore from, a great base to explore a fun City!
If you are looking for a personal recommendation, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else, this apartment was a fantastic find!
